A small scale practice
Artist statements are most effective when they clearly explain what you make and why you make it in direct first person language, while staying concise.[web:198][web:200]
I create miniature ceramic animals as small, hand held sculptures. At this scale, even the simplest gesture can feel intimate, and I am drawn to the closeness that small work asks of the viewer.
My practice is guided by tenderness, restraint, and a lasting affection for animals and tiny treasured things. I want the work to feel clean, gentle, and emotionally direct.
Each piece is made to offer a quiet moment of charm and connection, something modest in size but lasting in feeling.

About Pebble Den
Pebble Den is my small world of hand sculpted ceramic animals and other small sculptures. I have been an artist all my life, and although I trained in veterinary medicine, making has always remained at the centre of who I am.
I live with my tiny chihuahua Daisy, a collection of miniatures, and little treasures gathered from different places, all of which quietly shape the spirit of my work. Each piece is an offering of sweet whimsy, something small enough to invite a closer look and gentle enough to feel like a companion.
For collectors who still treasure small, tender things.
